    Remington 700 BDL Recoil Pad?

I have a late 70s BDL in 30-06 and I was looking for a recoil pad instead of the hard plastic butt plate. I ordered a Remington supercell recoil pad #19483 but it was about .5 inches too short. Any recommendations on a recoil pad that will actually fit?

Limbsaver mades a direct replacement one that is very good.
Pachmyer(sp) also makes a good one.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Have you called Remington about it? The package does say "See reverse side for specific models." Is it an aftermarket stock? Just curious.

I did call them this morning. I let them know that it didnt fit and he said sorry but thats the only one we make for the wood stock 700s. It does have the factory wood stock.

Do you have the limbsaver? It has quite a few bad reviews, i guess after a year or so the rubber starts to break down and deteriorate.

Does your rem 700 have the curved wood buttstock ? If so i have not found one either-- as ive read on most pre- fits,,,," not for curved stocks"... Even with the grind to fit pads most reccomendations are to cut curve off of the back end... Id rather not cut mine- i use a galco or packmyer leather slip on at the range... No need for pad while hunting on my 30-06 (my .02).... You might want to take of plastic or alum. Buttplate,, measure length and width to find pre- fit pad... Or just have your gunshop- smith grind to fit one...cheers...

The pad you purchased is for a stock that already has a recoil pad installed.

I have had the limbsaver on 5 rifles for 3 years or more.
Been to Africa and Wy as well as hunt Ca with them. I do quite a bit of range shooting also. No trouble so far.
If they start to go bad I will just order another as they work very well.

I also have the Pach pads on some rifles and after time they start getting harder. Just need to replace them when they do.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

It is a curved wood buttstock... I have also heard that the ADL has a curved buttstock so I will check into that.
