    Frustrating stock search

I have an older Remington 700 ADL and am looking to get a fiberglass stock for it. The Bell and Carlson medalist classic seems to be what I want, a good balance of features, quality, and price. However 99% of the ones i find are for BDL. Stocky"s shows one for ADL but says it requires LOTS of work to get it to fit the bbl channel. I want fiberglass not synthetic, I want a raised cheekpiece. HS Precision has them but thats more than an extra $100, or I could buy bottom metal, same story.

Am i missing something, is there something out there that fits my needs that I have not found yet? Any and all help is appreciated.

Buy the "BDL" bottom metal and you'll be all set.

Look for some used bottom metal. Guys are going to detachable mags. You might be able to find BDL or SPS metal.

Think about a laminated stock and if you want the composite look just get it painted. Remember you can trim down or custom contour/shape a wood stock very easy.

SPS is the Rem factory stock. BDL is the type of magazine the gun has.

Order the B&C Medalist stock for the BDL and then go here and pick up the conversion kit ADL to BDL http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet...-M4-BDL/Detail

Or buy the stuff you need here: http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts...s-prod340.aspx

The parts drop right in. You may want to pick up a set of new Remington BDL Trigger Guard screws while you are at it.

                  Easy!

Bdl bottom metal is polished and anodized aluminum.
SPS bottom metal is as-cast and powder coated I think.
                      SPS is rough.
                      BDL is super smooth.

Both would fit into the same stocks and work with any 700 of the appropriate Short/Long action size.
