Leather buttstock cover for Rossi R92

I have a Rossi R92 levergun....basically a Winchester M92 clone. It has the curved buttplate made of hard plastic. I have a bad shoulder(already had one surgery) and if I take a quick shot with the buttstock a little out of place the hard buttplate causes pain. So I'd like to find a leatherworker to make a leather buttstock cover that covers the buttplate so I could add some sorbothane padding to soften that buttplate. I'd like it to lace onto the buttstock. Anybody know anyone in the San Diego area that could do this work......Mike

He is not local and he takes a while as he handmakes each cover, but I have 2 of his covers and have ordered a third for my Rossi M92s . I believe he can also "convert" the crescent to a flat via padding within his cover. His name is Jon Klein. He is in Michigan.

I have one of these and they’re very nice. Some of the ornate ones are pretty spendy but that’s hand work for you.

Yesterday I ordered a stock cover/recoil pad from Amazon made by Waynesdogg after emailing Waynesdogg back and forth. I should get it Monday and will report back on fit

I used one of those pads just enough to soften that hard buttplate without significantly changing LOP. It fits tight, doesn’t move around etc. So far I’m good with it. Proof will play out at SBRG but it’ll be a couple weeks before I get out there. AFF16CD2-1C4F-4017-821C-DE221EED51D6.jpg
