Henry Big Boy X accuracy question

    Hello neighbors,

I recently "pulled the trigger" on a Henry X in 357. It was on Gunbroker. I DROS'ed it and it is currently in jail.

This was an impulse buy. I am a Marlin fan and I wanted a Marlin Dark. But they seem to be rare still and the one I did find was $1800. I gave $611 for this Henry.

Do any of you guys have any real world experience with the accuracy of the Henry 357? Have you slugged the bore? I currently load .358" 180 gr in my Marlin CB LTD. I used to load .360" in my 1894CS microgroove. So I can load both diameters.

Any info is appreciated. My first goal will be to slug the barrel of course and to see if it will chamber a .360" bullet.

Until then I was wondering what I could expect in the accuracy department.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a Big Boy steel 357. It's more accurate than my 1894 Marlin 357. If I do my part hitting a bullseye at 100 yards isn't hard.

Same experience with my Big Boy Steel .357 Mag and .41 Mag. Both of mine are pre-side loading.
