Hogue Stock Sporter Barrel Pillarbed, any experience?

I picked up a nice Winchester Model 70 last weekend, and will use it for hunting. The wood is pretty - too pretty to bang around in the woods, so I was thinking about pillar bedding the action into a synthetic stock. I happened to come across this stick made by Hogue, and they seem like a decent price. It would be a lot less work to buy a stock that has the pillars in it, as opposed to doing it myself, not to mention having to buy/deal with epoxy and so forth.

    Anyone here have experience?

Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

There are plenty of YouTube vids on how to do it. Seems easy enough.

I know, I've done several. I was just looking to take the easy way and avoid the mess and time.

I tested a FN produced M70 tactical version in 308 for a buddy. With generic 175smk/Varget hand loads it was easily the most accurate factory gun I've shot. It had a Hogue stock. I doubt the stock had much to do with the accuracy, but it certainly wasn't holding it back.

That's a sample of 1. You know the drill. See if it shoots and go from there.

I usually do, too, but right now I'm slammed with other things that take priority and don't have a lot of free time. If I decide to keep the rifle, I'll probably end up doing it myself down the road. I have a take-off synthetic stock that a fellow calgunner donated, so I'll just need to buy pillars and epoxy...... and of course find the time.
