    Anschutz 22 Hornet

I bought this rifle a few years back, got a good price on it as I recall, but have no idea what model it is or how it came to be configured as a single shot. Everything looks factory.

I have a pretty good stock of the usuals - Ruger No1, Winchester 1885 and Browning 78, Cooper Model 21 and some Sharps types. Also have this thing and I really don't know much about it. Other than being an Anschutz in 22 Hornet.

The stock looks factory and pretty typical for what I'm guessing is a 1970s made rifle. Skip line checkering, high cheek comb, the rosewood caps. The barrel diameter is a bit wider diameter at about 1" at the muzzle.

The action is a repeater type, but a metal block has been set into the stock. The metal block is fitted and bolted to the action.

The stock was never a repeater, single shot all the way.

Anyone have an idea what this is? No model number or import mark anywhere.

I'm sure stock style changes over the years.

I saw that, and as much as I'd like to think my $600.00 rifle is its predecessor there are a few things that don't match up.

The rifle started life as a repeater. The aluminum block is attached where a magazine would be and there's a corresponding cutout in the stock. Double set triggers are attached to the stock, not the action. Metal pillars keep the pull consistent

I don't think this was cobbled together aftermarket. Great shooter, but no idea of model or purpose.

Oh, huh. Yea it's a little different. The single shot sled isn't all that uncommon, Annie makes a 0 round magazine that serves as a single shot sled so bullets don't get nicked or deformed when going into the chamber. Looks something similar to me, although I'm no expert on them.

        Cool rifle either way!
