Just spent a little time looking at the 300Rum.
Standard vel for 150gr bullet is 3450.
If, And I don't know if it could be done. But if you can drive a 200 gr bullet with a BC of .597 3000fps,it crosses the sound barrier at 1600yrds. using an online calculator. And has 800 feet of drop at just over 3200yrds.
I know people shoot at 2 miles but danged if I know how they hit stuff that far.

I shoot one. I'm running 230 Bergers at a hair under 3100. It goes transsonic well before 2400 yards which is well short of 2 miles. The 215 and 230 Bergers are some of the best 30 caliber bullets out there for LR stuff. Anything light enough to go 3700fps is not going to be worth a damn at range, and is going to eat the barrel in no time. At one mile, I can make pretty consistent hits on a 24"x24" steel target, with good conditions.

OP is exaggerating greatly (or is shooting a barn for a target), as well as posting the for sell ad in the wrong place.

It IS a very nice and very capable rifle and cartridge, when used within its realistic parameters.
