CA law on bringing firearms back into state

Hi all,

Is it legal for me to take my guns out of state to shoot at a range and back into CA? I know they have that gun import law and wondering if I have to go thru a dealer to take it back over the border.

Please show me where the intersection of logic and CA gun laws sits, I haven't been able to find it in my Thomas Guide.

OP, you are good to take your guns into other states, shoot them, and bring them back. Make sure to understand the laws of the other state as well as CA with regards to configuration. Wouldn't want you ending up with an AW charge because you neglected a configuration issue, then got pulled over for failing to signal.

Mine is just a bolt action so I'm good to go then

I work from June through August in Idaho. I usually take a .357 Rossi 92 and .357 Rossi revolver or a 10/22 and a .22 pistol. I've sent rifle to myself in other states as well, but it's good to inquire in the current gun climate. PAX
