I have been wanting to get an 1892 Deluxe Takedown Trapper for a couple of years. I had a notify me for one on Midway USA for 2 years and was surprised when the notification came in last month. As soon as I got the notification I ordered one and it arrived at my FFL a week later. It is a 357 Magnum and has a very nice stock. It is very accurate also. I am looking forward to the next pistol cartridge lever action silhouette match.

You have purchased a bucket list firearm of mine. Don't own an example of this exact piece, but it is highly desired.
Congratulations! and posting photos here should now be even easier. You will be able to, with a little help. Just sing out when the time comes.

This was my bucket list rifle also. I specifically wanted the .357 mag because the butt plate would make recoil from a 44 mag or 45 colt too much for my shoulder as I have had 2 surgeries on my right shoulder. This one is a pleasure to shoot and so far is fairley accurate. The wood is almost as nice as the wood on my 44-40 takedown deluxe which is a plus. I had forgotten that I had it on notify me with Midway and was surprised when I got the notification.👍 1Comment

The Winchester 1892 is my favorite lever action to look at, next to the 1873. I own two '92s: a blued 16" Rossi in .357 and a Win/Miroku/Browning B92 in .44 Mag.
My favorite to own and shoot!, though, is the Marlin 1894. I have three '94 Marlin (.357, 41 and .44), one 336 Texan, an 1895GS and a wonderful old 39A.
I'm always looking... for that takedown '92... but can never really afford it at the time. One day, though!
I did two months ago purchase an SA TRP, so I *can* afford to do something like this once a year, if that.
Again, "one day"! ...and thanks for your reply..

1892_trapper.jpg I just could not help myself. I bought another 1892 Trapper. This one is a 45 Colt. Unfortunately I did not get it in time to avoid the new 11% tax but with any luck the state will have to reimburse that money back to me in the future. I plan on loading this one with powerful loads so I took the stock off of my 1892 take down deluxe 44-40 and exchanged the curved butt plate stock on the trapper with it. I load that rifle on the mild side as I use it to shoot pistol cartridge silhouette with it. Since a .22lr will knock down the 100 meter rams a mild 44-40 load works perfectly. Also since I have had 3 rotator cuff surgeries my shoulder prefers mild loads. If I decide to go deer hunting again I might use the 45 Colt Trapper.
