    Yep!!

The SKU is finally populating on the gun deal websites.

I?m adding in-stock notifications like crazy, haha!!

Pricing seems to be under $1,000 so far. Of course we?ll see what?s what once they?re actually in stock!!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.

I see it as another option for those of us who use firearms as tools. While the appearance may turn off some, it looks to be purpose built for actual outdoors use. I have a RuMar Trapper that I installed the XS rail and sights that the SBL uses. It’s a .45-70, and handles well with a Burris 2-7X Scout optic.
As to Ruger quality on these lever-action rifles, they are light years ahead of most ANYTHING that the old Marlin (all owners) ever produced, from what I have actually seen. While my example has less than 600 rounds through it, so far it has worked very well. Looking forward to hunting with it.
That factory supplied muzzle break will be a welcome addition for days of field shooting practice. How much dust it kicks up when shooting from the prone position will be fun to see.
I foresee a version of this or a traditional .357 Magnum around the corner.

        I think a .357 mag version will follow shortly. There’s more .357 owners than .44 special/magnum owners I think.

Why can't they also release a simple wood version in 357?

Why would you want a .357 when you could have a .44 that will do anything and more. The .44 spec/Mag is arguably the most versatile caliber there is.

Oh you have a.357 pistol ?

News Flash: All Proper Handgun Calibers start with a .4

I think RuMar is trying to get ahead of a new trend in Leverguns, with a new model that is essentially the same guns they've been making with plastic furniture, and a Pic Rail. Very small changes for a completely new line.

I like them and as a "Working Gun" I don't think you could beat them. I'd be partial to the .44 simply because I reload everything and they would be cheaper to load than the .45-70 or .30-30.

I've already got one of each but am keeping my eye out for a beat up .44 I could rebuild into a Tactical Gun.

News Flash: All Proper Handgun Calibers start with a .4

              They do.

But there's something REALLY special about a .357 lever action. Don't quite know how to put it.

I love my "Heavy" .44 Spl loads - they're a very slight variation of the famous "Skeeter's load" - his being a 250 gr Keith LSWC over 7.5 gr Unique for 950 fps... I bump that two-tenths grain Unique for a measured 1000 fps from a 4-5/8" Ruger flat top Blackhawk chambered in .44 Special.

Once I got tuned into that gun and that load, I sold my .41 Mag Blackhawk but kept my .41 Mag Marlin 1894FG, because the .44 Spl can do anything the .41 can do *from a handgun* but from a carbine?!

I want to work with the .41 Mag from the 20" Marlin barrel 'til I get it right or 'til the cows come home. That's going to be a very fun load to develop. Taffin already has his favorites so I might start there.

Then I have my 1894SBL... which I chuck 240 and 270 gr semijacketed loads from... but there's a 200 gr XTP load using Alliant 2400 to -get this- 2000 fps! I really wanna try that one.

My loading bench is currently being used for my camp trailer project detritus... I cannot wait! to get back to handloading. Trailer's almost ready to hit the road.

For short ranges I have to agree. My Ruger 77/44 (after some minor adjustments) is a really fun little bang-about carbine. Very simple and rugged.
I would like to see RuMar offer a dull stainless lever with a 16-inch threaded barrel in .454C, as a companion to my FA83.

                  Dang, I need one!

I'm more than confident that Ruger completely understands that as soon as they can crank them out, they will sell every single .357 rifle they can manufacture.

You're absolutely right, that's exactly what they did. And people will be lining up to buy them faster than they can make them too, just for the dark color and pic rail!

It's more than the all weather furniture and pic rail. It's the M-Lok forearm too. Lots of people want to hang a light on their lever action and can't. Same with IR when using NV for pig.

The stock reminds me of the old Ruger M77 polymer stocks, and I'm all for it!

Skinner does sell a light mount that attaches to magazine tube for folks who just want a light.

I think I’m liking the dark side. I’ve wanted a 45-70 for a long time but just recently passed over an older one recently. It’s hard to justify it when I already have a .444 Marlin. Having one in .357 would be nice but the .44 mag would be a lot of fun.

You are wise to have waited. RuMars are much better than past examples, as I unfortunately experienced.
