CZ 600 Range, .308

After almost two years, I received a 600 Range on Monday. I have not shot it yet but have high hopes. The rifle has many nice features but the chamber is looser than I hoped for, measuring 0.3465 inch. I had had a Remington 700 PSS in .308 with a 0.3473 chamber. The PSS's are chambered for reliable feeding, I understand. The best I could do with the 700 was 5/8". I was hoping for 3/8" but could not do it. I hope the 600 will do better.

The "0.3465"" you're talking about - is that the neck measurement? I think a lot of precision shooters have gone back to thinking that is not all that critical. Many benchrest shooters are now using no-turn neck diameter chambers, and foregoing neck turning their brass. The chamber measurement that, IMO, does make a difference is the freebore - the length from the step where the brass sits to the start of the rifling (though that becomes moot if you don't load your own ammo.)

Chamber itself has little to do with feeding, assuming you're talking about moving a cartridge from the magazine into the chamber.

For your 700, 5/8" is actually pretty good. I usually look at 1MOA as good for a factory gun. 1/2MOA is stellar. If you want to tighten it up, look at a better barrel and bed the action to the stock. Those will probably make the largest difference for the smallest investment, from a hardware standpoint.
