It will say Parker Hale on the side of the Front Sight.

If it has that weird 2 groove barrel where the grooves are only about 1/8" wide but like .316 deep it is probably a Long Branch #4Mk1* Made in Canada. I'm pretty sure most of those barrels were made by Savage.

I noticed that your gun has a Short Magazine. Is it a "Santa Fe magazine"? If it is the gun was probably done by PH.
It's a good candidate for a bore out to a larger caliber and there are .338,.358, and .375 to choose from.
If you like the wood you could experiment with different finishes that could enhance the look. It's amazing what can be done with Min Wax products and Birchwood-Casey products. You might be surprised what character lives below the surface in that wood. Compare this to the before pic of the gun that had 1/8" of varnish on the wood and I literally took my Palm Sander to it and ground off the paint and blemishes, (and there was plenty of them), to get to good wood. Somebody had worked over time making this gun look as bad as humanly possible, took several weeks to resurrect it from the dead!. But it was fun doing it!

Look at the pics of the handguard and buttstock on this gun. None of that showed up initially, it was totally hidden by a very thick layer of goo!.

This type of stuff ain't that hard to do and is very rewarding when finished.
