Thats a beautiful collection. i have several, winchester .357 trapper, marlin 39a in .22 cal and winchester 25-35.

Nice hoard there Wyatt, I especially like the Savages.

I think that the Savage 99 is a largely overlooked lever gun that deserves more acclaim than it gets. A couple of years ago I stumbled onto a deal on a Savage 99 and the more I have shot it, the more I appreciate the genius of the design. The one I got is a 1955 vintage Savage 99 Featherweight in .308 and it is a sweet shooting rifle. Honestly if I was in a situation where I could only have a single lever gun for hunting, I would take the 99 over a Winchester 94. That is not to say that the Winchester isn't a great gun, because they are, but the Savage is easier to mount a scope on and is chambered in cartridges that can benefit from having a scope.

I only have a few lever guns but am always looking for more to add to the collection. In particular, I have a burning desire to get a Winchester 1894 in 30wcf with a 26" barrel. I passed on one due to condition issues a few years back thinking I would find a better one. the only problem is that any that I find in better condition are twice the price.
