Everyone is going to think I'm nuts, but I put an unusual sighting system on my newest 45-70. Unusual, but it seems right for the task. I'm going against my own grain. Meprolight RDS Pro V2. Ugly as chit, but lots of positives nonetheless.

I've got a Leupold Pig Plex on my 45-70 Marlin, and a red dot on my 444. Probably going to swap them, since the 444 stock is designed for a scope.
They work really well on lever guns. -
No, it’s not nuts if it works for YOU. If you can make hits from field shooting positions in realistic time parameters, that’s all that matters. Besides, once a bullet leaves the muzzle, what it came out of is totally irrelevant.Comment

I put a Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x20 on my Marlin Guide, used Talley 30mm Marlin Model 336, 1895 (Ex-Low) I like it so that's all that matters to me
