Will this muzzle break work on a Tikka T3x CTR?

    .308 caliber

Just wanted to make sure since it's meant for the M5 AR10 platform.
And when installing I should use a crush washer?

Tikka uses metric threads any Armalite barrel would probably be SAE

Thanks. I figured I should have done my research before buying.
Any recommendations on a good muzzle brake for the T3x?

Check to make sure the machined shoulders are compatible or have a Smith install it.

If your barrel is already threaded. Are you sure the sure 5/8x24.
Then you need any muzzle brake 5/8x24 for a .308. Or .30 caliber.
You can use a crush washer.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

The tikka T3x CTR is threaded so shouldn't be necessary right?

Yeah the VG6 is for .308 or 762 I believe. Threads match as well

Depending on the way the barrel is threaded and the way the brake is threaded you might need some fitting. The VG6 brakes include some kind of crush washer but that's not a guarantee it will just spin on.

Yes, if the barrel isn't threaded all of the way to the shoulder, even with a crush washer you may be galling the threads when tightening the brake.

saw some recommendations that I should use an accu-washer instead of crush washer so going to get that as well.

Some mfg's actually cut a relief between the barrel and the threads. Some dont.
Can you post a pic of the threaded part of the barrel..

Are you in the south bay. Bay area ?
Or south bay. So cal ?

As you mentioned there is a cut relief

Also when hand turning and no washer timing is off as expected.

So I think something like an accuwasher will fix the issue?

That's not a cut relief, sorry. A cut relief is a section behind the threads that's a smaller diameter than the minor diameter of the threads. Then the brake can thread on all the way until it stops against the shoulder.
One could create a relief on your barrel, or use a spacer/washer, or modify the brake.
                              Good luck!
There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?
