Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

The tactical crowd was about 25 years behind the benchrest crowd but some of those millennials are still pretty smart guys who see what works and give it an honest try.
The pictures are my 300 wsm railgun with the scope 2 inches wide left of the bore centerline and 3.5 inches high.
There next discovery will be barrel blocks then tuners

I thought the same. After watching a few of their videos I don't think I will spend any money on mdt stuff.

I think they got tired of hearing about the get your scope as close to the barrel as possible comments so they made a tall base.
I have a MDT chassis and dont get the chassis craze other than it looks modern effect.

It seemed like a silly test to me, and as presented will cause some faulty conclusions.

While it correctly makes the point that where the scope is mounted does not magically make a rifle/scope inherently more accurate then when they left the factory. It also suggests there is still some misunderstanding of why you would want your scope as low as possible as well as aligned as much as possible with the bore. Particularly when you step away from the bench and are pursuing practical shooting activities under field conditions vs playing in a "lab" and are curious about what happens if I do x.

The irresponsible part of their video is telling people "it doesnt affect anything other than zero" or however they put it. That just isnt true. The higher your scope the more it exaggerates the cant issue. Their response to that in the comments is "thats why we use scope levels", but I think thats putting too much faith in a low tolerance bubble level. It also affects your errector travel when going from zero (if you can even get a close zero) to distance targets.

Now I agree and understand that the scope height doesnt inherently affect accuracy specifically. But I also dont consider a 10 round "test" definitive. I will continue to get my scopes as low as possible. And now that I am starting to shoot more air rifles I am really seeing the advantages exaggerated.

I think its more they want to sell more chassis, and people have voiced some concern over their design. This video is just a marketing ploy created by the Product Testing Manager to justify their products. There are plenty of firearm myths and tales they could post on youtube but this one was directly related to one of their products.
