I had also seen another brand I forget at the moment that the casing is a composite and suppose to help with throat erosion but it also was the same price range at around 70.00 for 20. Yeah pass on that. EDIT: This was it. https://www.tvammo.com/

First I have heard of this, thanks for posting. I skimmed the Sig website, which was not very descriptive beyond a brief blurb, here is a website with some more info : https://gatdaily.com/the-curious-sig-hybrid-ammo/

I appreciate Sig's innovation, but this definitely seems like a .mil driven project. Weight, in the lens they are using, is really a non-issue to the civilian market. Case life is really only significant to reloaders, a group which would be seemingly unlikely to buy this ammo given the steep price, and power can be fixed by simply changing your caliber - an issue with mass-issued weapons, not so with the civilian market.

Yeah, it's the NGSW Next Generation Squad Weapon (MCX Spear). There was discussion of the round here several months ago because of the very high pressures it ran. The rifle has a 13" barrel and gets really good velocity because of the extremely high pressures.

I think that technology was being used by one of the competitors in the military competition that SIG won.
