I purchased an Extreme Weather earlier this year. I got really lucky. My FFL was able to find one. It was the last one available from any of the distributors that he deals with. I purchased it through Golden State Arms in Azusa. Maybe give him a try.

I agree. Walnut is so much nicer in appearance, and feels good in the hand, unlike the 'plastic' feel of composite.

True, walnut is beautiful.

However, composite stocks are considerably more weather-proof. This is especially applicable if one is in a humid area (think M-14 use in Vietnam), or if one has a stainless-steel rifle. And I've gotta acknowledge, Bell & Carlson stocks actually do look pretty cool.

I took the Walnut stock off my Winchester model 70, and replaced it with a composite stock I bought off of eBay. Hunting is tough on pretty wood, so I'm saving that and letting the composite take the beating. Plus, it doesn't swell up when it gets wet and it is lighter.
