Could I make a revolver rifle in 9mm?

I have an idea for a project. Take a revolver, preferably 9mm, add a butt stock and elongate the barrel (with a barrel shroud?) to 16 inches and have a rifle similar to the Rossi Circuit Judge but in 9mm for plinking. Is anything like this already available? Any conversion kits for this sort of thing?

I'm imagining that it would require blast deflectors like on the Circuit Judge.

Seems like a joke? But in case it isnt, no you cant. Cant add a rifle stock to a pistol without a stamp and not legal in CA.

Once a pistol, always a pistol.. Not without proper stamps, not in CA

You can send a later to BATFE asking the question. Be patient and they'll send you an opinion. California may have a different opinion.

Out of curiosity, why? Why 9mm? Why a revolving rifle?

I don't know of anything like it on the market. If the Judge comes in 357 the easier approach might be to somehow rework a cylinder and use moon clips.

FWIW, outside CA "handgun to rifle and back to handgun" is legal so long as the gun started life as a handgun and no SBR is made when reassembling and is otherwise lawfully configured. No idea about CA.

              1) I like old-fashioned looking guns and I think it would look cool.
              2) It would not be semi-automatic so it would avoid CA assault weapon laws.
              3) Because 9mm is one of the most affordable rounds for plinking, yet it has enough power to be useful in a home defense situation.

It's been done in the past but not necessarily in 9 X 19... although there are wheelguns chambered as .38/.357 that offer 9mm conversion cylinders.

It's kind of dumb when you can just buy a Ruger pc carbine. Your left arm is going to catch fragments and hot powder from the cylinder gap. Many years ago someone made a revolver rifle where the cylinder moved back and forth on the ejector rod when it was cocked. The cylinder moved forward and locked into the barrel to seal the gap. The barrel and cylinder were machined to have matching taper interfaces. IIRC the govt was going to use it with a silencer for extra quiet assassinations.

Figure the legal hurdles and go for it if you've got a couple grand or a lot of gunsmithing skills. It would make a neat Youtube video if nothing else.

                        It's not *my* money

I'm a nut who wants a 16.25 inch barrel lever gun in 9mm, as it would put a lot more rounds in the tube than .38 special and be really easy to thumb in a loading gate.

But I'm not taking a second mortgage to make it happen.

I could be wrong but I think the OP does or did have a PCC9
