Good ol' Clay Martin.
He's managed to hang two choice, modern coRnveniences onto a lever carbine without fuggin' it up tooooooooooooo bad.
Red dots are good tools, yes, but I don't own any. And, of course, here in Cally-f0rn-eye-aye we don't get to use suppressors at all.
Would have liked to see the shot group at 50 meters. He was using (500? grain) .45-70 Cowboy loads which looked to be easy on the shoulder.
I can say that in a similar-weight Marlin without the leather, the optic and the can, "Trapdoor" loads of 405 grain slugs @ 1200 fps are fun to shoot and still somewhat effective to 100 yards... and without having to hold over.
Clay Martin, like the rest of us, likes cool firearms. His background is Army, he's an instructor, and he more than likely could handle ten Taliban in hand-to-hand combat with one hand tied behind his back... and it's neat to see him fawning over wheel guns and lever actions.

The suppressor is sweet. I don't know why the government wants us to lose our hearing ... oh wait ... so we can't hear what's going on!
I like this a lot. Too bad I'm old and live in California.Comment
