    Pre-64 M70

I'm looking to purchase some Talley 30mm scope rings for a pre-64 model 70 (1946). Does the pre-64 take different scope rings or are they the regular model 70 rings?

Rings are the same the mounts are different on some old verses new. Go to Amazon and they will list pre 64 mounts.

I used these one piece base and ring set on my 1950s Pre64 M70 30-06. Worked great. Not sure if you 1946 year has different rear spacing?

Thanks everyone. I was pleasantly surprised that the old Weaver bases worked perfectly with some Vortex Pro Rings that I already had. The old rifle certainly looks great wearing a VX5. The rifle shot the first two rounds really well (almost the same hole) but the third was a bit of a flyer (1 inch).
