Your thoughts? I prefer standard sights on my 357 cowboy and rossi 45 70 levers, but maybe a scope on my new Henry 22 makes a little sense, will I be giving up my man card by scoping it?

Scope on Henry 22?

Well I'm 70 yrs old, so your thoughts mirror mine, thanx -
No doubt. I qualified as an expert at 500 meters with irons, and now I can't see at 500 meters.Comment

I've got a Henry 22, and it's open sights. That said, I've got a Henry, Big Boy in 357, and it had a red dot/tube type sight on it. I was running a reloading ladder test on this rifle for 100 yards, and I just couldn't get a fine enough (magnification) sight picture to really know if it was me or the gun. I put a 1-8, Primary Arms LPVO on the rifle, and was blown away at how tight the groups were. I'm 74, and I say, put a scope on your 22 Henry!OLD iTrader Rating: iTrader Rating Here (click)

I put a TRS-25 on my Browning BuckMark. It's just not fare at all
I have a few 22 semi auto rifles/carbines, a couple bolt actions, a Winchester 94/22 and a Henry H001, all with open sights. The Henry is the best of the bunch. It might also be the least expensive but man can it shoot straight...
I never say no to optics at my age...It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I scoped mine. Ground squirrels are small targets, as is the head on cottontails.Comment

What about a simple prism scope with a diopter that would allow you to dial in a crystal clear image. Great for something you don't necessarily need magnification for but will give you better clarity and focus.sigpicComment
