Shooters
We are holding another match the 3 rd Sunday in May or May 16th.
So there is no confusion bring as many guns as you want to shoot and there is no limit on the number of shooters either. This isn't PRS if you want to shoot 3 guns bring your 3 guns. If your buddies wife or girlfriend want to shoot bring all of them. This is a very friendly match.
We will go hot around 7:30AM as the weather is warming up and mirage might become an issue.
No fees No pit duty just sign up at www.unlimitedrange.org and all is good.
Any legal firearm is welcome.
We are remote so bring a shovel and some toilet paper as the nearest bathroom is 40 minutes away.
Bring around 60 rounds of ammo per gun. We shoot 7 sighters then 3 practice then 10 qualifiers then 10 for record.
If time allows we will hold a second match so extra ammo never hurts.
Any safe shooting position is allowed bench prone standing kneeling back of your truck bipod tripod quadpod we don't care bring it.
First focal plane second focal plane iron sights peep sights kentucky windage we don't care.
Square range round range no range free range we don't care.
For those who have friends on typers hide please explain these directions to them.
The Match will be held approximately 3 miles west of the HighGlade lookout above UpperLake California. If you have never been there and want to shoot we do have google coordinates and yes they will get you lost and angry.
Find UpperLake California on your map. We are shooting due north 8 miles up the mountain from there. It is a remote dirt road and nobody gets lost unless they use a GPS navigation system.
It is one dirt road and you drive up it until you see all the shooters.
If you use Google maps and own a D10 caterpillar tractor you might find us eventually but if your 60+ years of age and drive a Prius just take Sam Alley Ridge road to the top of the mountain after shooting your GPS. It will save you alot of frustration and time.
If a Prius can make it monthly and your superduper $350,000 4X4X4X4 is getting its doors ripped off and your 54's are smoking your not on the main road.
I drive a jeep liberty 2 wheel drive up there monthly without issue.
For those without GPS take hwy 101 north until you reach hwy 20 east and make a right. You can't make a left.
Drive 30 minutes and your in UpperLake California. You will know your there when you see the roundabout in the hwy.
Go 1/4 mile and turn left onto Mendenhall road until it ends at Elk Mountain Road.
Take another left on Elk Mountain Road and follow it until you reach Pitney Lane and make a right.
The only road off of Pitney Lane is Sam Alley Ridge road unless you are using a GPS.
Take out your claw hammer at this point and beat your GPS into pulp and your half an hour away.
Use your GPS and search and rescue knows where to find the bodies.
To those experts that rely on GPS a quick look at Google maps shows atleast 6 roads. Those are old fire roads and skid trails and they no longer exist.
