    URSA 3K Match Results

    Shooters
On Saturday we had 7 shooters on the line and 11 rifles on the line.
    Mark Liu last year's 3K winner used a 6 Dasher a 300 PRC and a 375 CheyTac.
White mamba used a 338 Lapua Ackley Improved and a 510 DTC and yours truly used a 375 CheyTac and a 50 BMG so there is no confusion for those that don't know about unlimited range shooting.
We encourage our shooters to bring all the guns and ammo they want to shoot!!! Unlike other venues with tons of restrictions.

We ran two matches Saturday morning with Lynn winning match one with a shootoff with Calguns regular RickyRacer87.
In match 2 RickyRacer87 won it outright with 4 hits in 10 shots at 2054 yards. Mark Liu came in second place with his 375 CheyTac.
Mark Liu qualified for the 3K on his final shot on Saturday in heavy winds.
Nice shooting in bad conditions for all who attended.
First time shooter Modolistic got 2 hits during each match so he is an up and coming star. Congrats!!!

On Sundays 3K match we had 7 shooters and 7 guns on the line so everyone gets a chance at good conditions.
Calguns regular Hognuts gave me a load for my 375 CheyTac and I managed to get 4 hits at 2502 yards to take the win.
BillyGoat Machines most excellent gunsmith took second place with 3 hits and FCSA 50 BMG shooter Ken Eng had 2 hits with his big boomer.

All three finishers used BillyGoat Machine rifles. Congrats to BillyGoat Machine on getting those barrels on correctly!!!

After the match we held a fun shoot because everyone still had ammo.
RickyRacer87 took out his can opener and opened up a can of whoop***** on all of us with 6 hits in 10 shots at 2502 yards shooting a BillyGoat Machine 338 Lapua Ackley Improved and 300 grain A-Tip bullets.
    Way to go RickyRacer87!!!

After that was over the shooters that still had ammo decided to give 3713 yards a try and the wheels fell off. Not a single hit was made and at that distance the target looks like a postage stamp at 40X.

A huge Thank You to ELR-Researcher(Oscar) for giving out T-shirts to those shooting the 3K match on Sunday. They will be mailed out shortly as I forgot to get everyone sized before the match.

Thank You for all attending the Match and hope to see you all again next year.

    Congrats Lynn!

Damn RickyRacer87 put in some work with that little gun. I gotta ask what you did differently from the 3K match?

    Cheers,

What a great match. In the final I had 3 hits with only Lynn left to go. Im thinking he tried to make it dramatic as he started out with 3 out of 5 hits! Then misses the next 4 only to knock me out with his last shot. Good stuff and great shooting Lynn. Focus, winds were tricky during the match which is why RickRacer wasn't able to connect like he normally does when it was his turn. When the match was over the winds calmed down a bit and he was able to take us all to school!!

Big thanks to Lynn for setting up the gongs and organizing the match.

                They shoot very well.
Chris got his rifle a couple days before the match and got a hit at 2502 yards.

Yes everyone is welcome to shoot or just watch.

Bring around 60 rounds of ammo because after the matches we usually shoot a second match.

I have always wanted a gun that could shoot accurately over a mile and Pablo the owner of Billy Goat Machine has been a friend for many years and told me that whenever I was ready he could build me one. About ten months ago I received my first Billy Goat rifle. The waiting was the hardest part with the lead time for all the components but the wait was well worth it when it was all said and done. My first outing while fireforming the brass for my Ackley Improved .338 I was able to get 5 out of 10 hits at 2054 yards and won my first match... I have never been happier, and the quality and craftsmanship is just awesome...

All my Rifles will be from Billy Goat Machine...
