Ladies and gents....I'm hoping someone can offer some insight/guidance/advice.
I'm working on my son's ABolt 2 in 308. The magazine has a maximum inside length of 2.815". When I use my Sinclair tool to measure max OAL to leade, I'm getting 2.924"
Here is what the factory Browning mag looks like....I shamelessly stole this image from their parts website:
Abolt2.jpg
The front of that magazine has some kind of insert in it that measures roughly 0.138" thick. If I could find a magazine replacement that let me gain back some or all of that space, I could play with my jump to rifling. As it is now, I would need to load to about 2.800" OAL to give myself some room, so I end up with 0.120"+ jump to leade :-(
Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for Browning mags that will let me run longer OAL loads?
.
