    Combination Muzzle Brake AND Suppressor?

Just wondering, can one combine a muzzle brake and suppressor, or is there a "combo" device that is actually effective? Think 338 Lapua Mag.

a suppressor is a type of brake... gas hits baffles.... and gas is redirected - less effective as its enclosed....

    what is the end goal?

338 without hearing protection? without bugging the neighbors?

probably a better question for a free state forum... I've shot a fair amount suppressed as a friend out of state is an 07 SOT... Taken at least 6 days training with suppressed sub guns...

338 is a specific round and I imagine hard on a can due to volume of gas...
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I have shot a Savage 110BA 338 Lapua w/standard brake. I can handle the recoil (but would want no more), but would quite like less concussion. With good ear plugs and earmuffs, the actual noise is tolerable, but a reduction in that would be nice.

Get a longer barrel and a different brake would be my suggestion. Ive never seen a brake on the end of a suppressor?

The Barrett QDL suppressor for the 50 BMG M107A1 has a brake:

It’s removable, but would be unpleasant to shoot without it.

Not something I have seen for smaller calibers.

The poster who goes by BillyGoat Machine is competing at 2000 yards with us using a suppressor on a 338 Lapua Ackley Improved.
It sounds like a large caliber airgun every time he shoots and as our shooting lanes are about 10 feet apart no hearing protection is needed from those around him.
He has a FFL license and is completely legal.
Maybe he will chime in or you can pm him and get the skinny.

              Muzzle brake

I have a suppressor coming from Silencer central. So I had all my rifles threaded through them. After I had that done I put muzzle brakes on the 6.5 swede and the .308's along with the 30.06. It turned them into real soft shooters. I mean down right Whimpey

Most suppressors function as excellent muzzle brakes.
