    Bought a new Mauser, M18 in .308.

    Gents,

After some deliberation, and lots of internet searches. I decided to purchase a Mauser M18 in .308. It checked all of the boxes, good price $461 shipped, .308, German made, excellent write ups. Because of expense of having 3 calibers, I have had to consolidate to 1! .308 of course, I can have my AR10 rifles and my Mauser as a hunting rifle.
The M18 is light, well made, the stock fore end is stiff, it has detachable mags that hold 5 rounds. Anyway A2

Bought one last year in 6.5. Great rifle. Great trigger for a bargain rifle. If you are looking for an after market stock the Mauser is the same action as the Sauer 100.
Amazing how well built that Mauser is compared to a bargain remington/savage/mossberg or any other American manufacturer.

^ ^ ^ They offer a “moderator”... guess I’d have to move to a (mostly-) free state then pay for the tax stamp to have a moderated Mauser.

Sure has a nice ring to it though.

Go to Euro Optic and check out the SALE section for these Mauser rifles. 223 to 300 win mag available. I was sorely tempted to get one in 270 win but didn't give in.

I like the 3 lug bolt with the 60 degree bolt throw but having no left hand variant available kills it for me.

It's also hard for me to wrap my head around a push feed Mauser. I know that the mini-Mauser were push feed but I never got into them either.
