30 caliber brake - suggestions wanted

A buddy just got into shooting and wants a brake on a 308 rifle.

The last brake I picked up was over a decade ago.... so I am not current on what is out there....

He is looking to minimize recoil and better spot his own shots.

Any advice or suggestions as to the better / best ones now on the market?

I have watched a few reviews on youtube and The all seem to leave some models out of their reviews... not sure if biased or just a budget issue.

    thanks

I like the A419 brake. works great to mitigate recoil.

another one, which i have no exp with, is the new EC-tuner brake by Erik Cortina. its on backorder. i'm really intrigued by this brake.

I just ordered a brake by Ross Schuler, of Idaho. He makes them to order, and is not expensive. He was recommended by Randall, and when I spoke with Mr. Schuler over the phone, he commented that he had made a good number of brakes for Randall’s customers.

Have ross schuler turn one to fit barrel diameter and have randall ar15 install it Brake is about 40 bucks and a hundred to randall or if on ar just buy brake and install. He put one on my .300 weatherby.

American Precision Arms is very excited to share the release of the Generation 3 Little Bastard. It has been a long time coming but we wanted to make sure everything was perfect before offering something new. The development of APA Gen 3 Little Bastard was the result of American Precision Arms' constant pursuit of brea

You should ask your friend which rifle they are using.
If it is a hunting version. They can only expect so much.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

These came on my 556 uppers and the rifles barely move. 556 I know. What recoil?

I've shot a shorty 762x51 POF sbr with one installed and the rifle barely jumps.

Lock nut install and the finish is way north of tough.

M11 is a good one. A friend of mine has it on his 308 and 300MG. They are pretty good.

APA makes good gen 3 Fat and Little bastard

Area 419 is another good one

I used both area 419 and APA and they are both great.

                Another schuler user.

Great prices and product. I have 4 or 5 of them now.

APA Little Bastard Gen 3. I have one on a 26” .308 and love it. It definitely reduces recoil and is “tunable.”

Another for Schuler. Ive used close to 20 of them over the years. They preform very well and are the best deal out there.

What is he using the gun for? If hunting I say nix the brake and man up. Rifles with a brake are obnoxiously loud and a 308 barely kicks enough to notice.
