For those of you not on a hunting trip we are holding a 2000+ yard match November 15th above UpperLake California.
It will be a single match not our usual double match unless time allows a second match.
We usually always shoot a second match so bring plenty of ammunition.
If the good Doctor clears it I will be shooting this match as well.
Arrive at sunrise and after a brief set-up we will go hot.
It should be very cold this time of year so dress in layers.
We shoot in the direction of the morning sun so a pop up cover or sunshade for your scope is desirable.
Directions to the match.
Take hwy 101 north to the hwy 20 junction just north of Calpella.
It is a long sweeping right-hand only turn.
From there you drive a half hour to UpperLake California and you will know your there because they have a roundabout in the middle of hwy 20.
Once past the roundabout you travel around 500 yards to Mendenhall road which is a left turn.
Mendenhall road turns into/butts up against elk mountain road when you reach it turn left.
Your on elk mountain road for a mile and a half and you make a right onto Pitney lane which is a right turn only.
The only road off of pitney is Sam Alley Ridge which takes you 8 miles up the mountain.
When you reach the top of the mountain take a left onto French glade deer valley road about 3 miles until you see all the vehicles parked. The road sign is either missing or burned up but your GPS or Google maps will tell you your there.
Go to this link click on the yellow highlighted area and sign up. This is a qualifying match for the annual 3K match.
