savage model 99

How do i determine which model savage lever action i have?
Thanks in advance.
Any help will be appreciated.

Well it is a Savage 99 but you need to post the caliber and serial number. Black out the last two digits if you feel the need .

Does it have a take down lever on the forearm?

Some calibers are rare and have more value. I did some research on these last year and found the values to be lower than expected.

Overall condition and caliber with pictures would be helpful.

The 99 is a great rifle and fun to shoot.

Pre War Savages in certain calibers command the premiums. Post million serial # with tang safety are much less. Box mag even less

Could be an 1895, an 1899, or a Model 99. Generally, given equal condition, the older, the rarer and more valuable.
