Picked up a savage hog hunter, positive vibes

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

That heavy barrel is what stopped me from buying one. I liked everything else about it. They came so close with that one!

When you are young heavy rifles are not so bad. The older you get they "weigh" on you.

You're going to get bored with it soon. All it's going to do is shoot bullets into the same hole all day long.

                  Vibes on your hog rifle?

Are you seeking the opinions concerning your rifle selection from fellow CalGunners, or are you
looking for opionions from the game hogs you intend to hunt using mentioned riflel?

I was more trying to share that I am satisfied with my purchase and think it was $498 well spent.

People are down on savages because they work right out of the box. It's not like a 700 where you need an industry full of aftermarket to de-jank the rifle first.

I'm picking up a 12fv once I can find ammo again.

Careful there, you get unpopular around here when you reveal the emperor has no clothes.

First, OP, congrats on your new rifle. That's always a good thing.

Savage's 11VT is a variant of this, with the 24" heavy barrel and without threading. That rifle, also in .308 Win, likewise shoots lights-out.

So true as this is what my hog hunter 308 does. Great rifle for the money. Enjoy your new toy.
