    SIG rifles

So SIG Sauer in Europe has gone tits-up. Does that affect Sauer rifles sold in the U.S.? How about Blaser? There is a Blaser USA, will they still be around or will they be gone once current stock is sold off? I thought Sauer and Blaser rifles came from Europe, but I don't know for sure.

If I buy a Sauer or Blaser will I be hung out to dry wrt parts and repair?

They love abandoning platforms. They stuck me on the 556. I heard the mcx is pretty popular so that one may have done staying power. Nothing is guaranteed though.

Has something recently changed? Article from June says that (SigSauer/Germany) is what is being closed.

A hostile German business climate against firearms manufacturers and a lack of demand led to the closure of the SIG Sauer GmbH plant in Eckernförde, Germany.

Because of the strict laws/regulations governing firearm manufacturing and importation/exportation in Germany & the EU, SIG Sauer GmBH (Germany) is closing down and most of the manufacturing is slated to be swtiched to SIG Sauer Inc (USA).

None of this will effect the operations of SIG Sauer AG (Switzerland) or Blaser GmBH (Germany).

Curious where they'll make the STR rifles from now on - not that I've ever seen one in the US.

Does anyone have insight into why Sig pulled the new Cross rifles in 6.5 CM. They haven't told my LGS, and the one time I tried calling Sig, I couldn't get through. I saw on snipers hide that the .308 had a replacement bolt. You would think they could communicate a little better and provide a revised ETA to customers.

Hadn't heard that. The last thing I heard about them was they were being shipped a few weeks ago, but nothing since.

No. Sig Sauer in Europe basically has nothing to do with Sig USA. TFBTV did a youtube vid with President of Sig USA

I don't think we have to worry about you buying a Sauer or a Blaser.

You mean the M17/M18? Unaffected because that's part of SIGARMS, a U.S. company.
