Rifle Value (Custom 30.06)

Looking to see if anyone could help me out looking for a rough estimate on value of a rifle I won in a raffle a while back.

Some info on it:
-"Custom Built exclusively for LOGAC dinner"
-Timney Trigger
-Mauser Action
-Custom Trigger guard with quick release floor plate
-Octagan Barrel (1 in 10 twist)
-Custom Walnut stock with matching tip and cap

I was told it was built by a guy named Manny Ribero.
Other then that I have no idea what its worth. Any ideas?

Don't have a value for you but that is what a rifle should look like in my humble opinion.
Do you have a picture showing the entire forend cap?

Looking at the front sling stud, someone knows something about rifles. A picture of the receiver bridge, safety lever, and any manufacturer markings on the receiver would be helpful. I don’t know about the optic, can’t see who made it.
Could be a Mauser receiver that started life as a surplus military weapon, but it could also be a Mauser-type receiver that was new. There are a number of different European gun makers who produced major components, so without better pics it is hard to tell.

Nice looking gun. Hard to say without more info and seeing it first hand(wood quality ,condition, quality of build etc.). I will take a consumers viewpoint estimate. You can buy a new walnut stock Winchester model 70 for 800 bucks or so, and a super grade for 1200 approx.(1600 for French Walnut) Assuming a quality build, your used rifle would fall somewhere in that range I believe. The wood appears very nice and hard to be precise with the pictures provided. Then take into account your optics and add if warranted. The hexagonal barrel might be a minor distractor in price for some.

If it was made off a military action, I would say it would have the value of any Sporterized military Mauser. Which sad to say is not very much. As some of the other posters have said, you need to post images of the receiver area, barrel area to give a better idea of possible value. FN made some beautiful actions, that were commercial, but were made into beautiful customs that I have seen command decent prices.

Tough call - looks to me like a commercial Mauser action, but it’s always difficult to price out custom work; things never translate 1:1 money wise.

Gorgeous rifle though, man how far we have fallen!

the caliber is very well thought of and time tested but i would imagine a lot of newer consumers might be more drawn to 6.5 and 7 mm variants.

i'm certainly no expert in these matters but from a very practical consumer position i would imagine that had someone listed a gorgeous rifle like yours for $900 - $1100 it would probably sell pretty darn quickly so maybe those are fair to undervalued values.

if you listed it for $1500, it might be a tougher sell unless the smith was very well respected or the integral parts new or high dollar. i'm not saying the smith is not awesome as it truly looks lovely...i'm just saying that's how i would envision it might well play out.

my gut would be to try to value it somewhere between those two valuations and see how it plays out.

Thanks for the responses. Not too familiar with the rifle. Basically I won it in a raffle from a guy who won it in an auction. Sounds like he had too much fun the night of the auction and bought something he really couldn't afford. He tried to sell the rifle with two gun shops here in town. Supposedly they told him they were having a hard time selling it because of the price...When I talked to him the other day he said he had the gun appraised by two different people
and they said in the $3500 range. Seems really high to me, which is why I posted here asking. He could also just be pulling my leg and trying to make it more of a rifle then it actually is.

Is LOGAC love of God and country? Which state? Manny Ribero is he part of the Ribero Bros Guns?
In the description it says octagon barrel but the pictures on my phone make it look round? Octagon barrels can be the rifling of the bore or the contour on the exterior. If it's the exterior the stock needs to match the flats on the barrel adding to the cost.
The video shows an octagon barrel near the end of the clip.

You have a high class problem.
1) Sell it and have money to get what you really want.
2) Keep it and have a great rifle to shoot and enjoy.
Advice. Ask a bit more than you think its worth and negotiate with the interested party to a number you both like.
