Great day ASR, Remington 30-06 Long Range.

Broke in my new Remington 700 Long Range 30-06. Will be a fun gun, used for target, and steel silhouette. One 3 shot group was a clover leaf. .34 inch center to center. Outside measurement was .71. I was blown away with the accuracy of the rifle.
I did a slow methodical break in, 5 shots, clean between shots. Then 2 shot groups, clean for a series 10 shots. After a 200 yard zero, I was able to get the rifle dialed in out to 600 yards. I am using a 168gr Hornady BTHP, 56.2gr of Big Game, virgin Starline brass, #34 primer, COAL 3.220. Excellent load, 2900 FPS, 0-200, .8 mil-300, 1.5 mil-400, 2 mil-500, 3 mil-600 come-ups for the Leupold Mark AR Mod 1. All in all very happy! A2

My 700’s have always shot very well too.
That rifle is very useful for just about anything in NA, and everything else short of dangerous stuff anywhere. The .30-06, while “old”, certainly works just as well now as it did 100 years ago. One of my favorites.

The -06 is still my favorite cartridge, it's what was cool when I was a kid and it's still cool to this day. You got a shooter there my man, well done.

Upon closer examination, it is a 4 shot group! The bottom hole had 2 shots go through! Yes haw! A2
