    Ruger gunsite scout

    friend of mine says he was told at LGS that ruger was discontinuing scout. Anyone know about this?

    I highly doubt that - maybe specific versions, but it’s a popular item.

        I think they only got rid of the models in .223.

                It might actually be true. I tried to get one from my buddies gun shop and he could not get it and his dealers are not getting any info from Ruger either. He assumed that the price is a 500$ too high for most buyers, and even when it was available most would not go that high for a non precision riffle.

                  I looked into my often cloudy & sometimes inaccurate crystal ball before I bought one and it showed me a future with bans & confiscations/buy backs of semi-auto rifles if the right combination of tyrants ever got elected. I figured a detachable magazine fed bolt action rifle might be something that would stay out of the EBR category for a little while longer than other long guns. Probably wrong but it's still a fun rifle and I found it at a fair price late last year. I specifically wanted the .223/5.56 model because I had a lot of that + I didn't want to get into a new cartridge (.308).
