Folks,


Picked up a Mossberg Patriot Synthetic in 30-06 from jail today. Pulled it apart, wiped it down, ran some patches down the bore. Very pleased, cannot wait to get it to the range. Will be topped with a Leupold VX Freedom 3x9x40, my main hunting rifle. A2

Where’d ya get it? I heard Bass Pro had a price mistake a couple weeks ago, saw some under $200. They got scooped up in hours. I’m looking at getting one in .308 or 6.5 CM for my first deer/hog rifle; debating this, the Ruger American, or a Howa 1500.

That is a good rifle for the cost. Every one I have shot was accurate.
The Ruger American is also an excellent rifle. With the non-lead bullets I give the edge to the 30 cal(30-06 or 308win) over the 6.5.

when I get a new rifle, I can't wait to get it to the range and try it. I sure hope what ever this is passes soon.

This will do everything you want for hunting out to 300m. Degrease the scope mount and locktite the mount screws and enjoy.

Not to rain on OP’s parade, but had looked at one of those on sale and considered it until I watched this:

I have no stake in this, BUT two things to weigh against their review. In their own words...crappy scope and sample of one.

Questions to ask coming away from this review. did they double check the scope mounting, how would the rifle perform with a different scope. what about different ammunition. They say they "know" it won't shoot. BUT what else did they do to verify that that experience/result? Didn't sound like anything to confirm the result.

The other thing to weigh...did they just get unlucky with their sample of 1?

Richard Mann, who I have grown to respect, has had a lot of good luck with the Patriot. Even took it to Africa.
