My newest build-UPDATED

With all that has gone on around me in the last 18 months since I bought this rifle, it is finally complete.
My friend bought it from the Remington Custom shop in 1996 and never fired it.
He asked me to buy it and I started to save for parts.
This will be my main hunting rifle and I hope it shoots better than I can imagine.

1996 Rem 700 Alaskan Wilderness Rifle
300 Win Mag, Bell and Carlson stock
5R rifling, Witt Machine SME Brake
Burris Veracity 4-20x50.

Now I can finally go shoot it and test handloads for it...

Only for those standing next to you; the blast will be easily felt. Will be good to hear back about it afterwards. I've experimented by shooting through a cardboard box placed over the last 10" of barrel length, to tunnel a few brakes. Depending on the load recipe, I've found enough powder debris to stick in the box at times. For your particular setup, it might not be an issue. Your barrel is plenty long enough as well to help reduce it. Just have to try it.

Yeah brakes can send blast that really makes it crazy loud for the shooter and those around. This brake has a shroud over it to send all of the report to the front. I use Witt Machine brakes on a few other rifles and it is great to lessen the kick but it is super loud. THis one should fix that issue.

So yesterday I was finally able to go test the build.
I used loads for one of my other rifles and man it hated them. Luckily I had a box of COre-Lokt with me and I decided to try them.
I was able to zero the scope in 3 shots and the rifle was shooting sub half MOA with crap box ammo.
The SME brake works really well. It has a little more kick than my other regular brakes but it is really nice. And it make the report much more tollerable. I would venture to say it could be hearing safe.

Thanks Duece. Yeah I am really looking forward to finding the right hunting load for it... But it's like since I will have to start at zero, I thak I might actually load a 200gr LRX instead of a 180gr TTSX.....
