What make and model is this gun?

Hi all, I need your help identify this rifle. It only has a serial number And is stamped 223 rem on the barrel. It’s a single shot. The closest thing I could find to it was ( John Browning falling block- see image IMG_1991) but it’s not 100% the same. Is this something rare? Thanks for your help.

Very close but still doesn’t look exactly like it. Thank you though.

Sorry I didn't add more earlier, I was skimming through the forums. Wickliffe 76, and yes, they are pretty rare. Wickliffe went bankrupt about 1981?, and I believe has been resurrected twice. There were some changes on the action in the 2nd gen, longer tang I think for a caliper rear sight. Strong action, on par with the Browning HiWall.
Google search Wickliffe 76 , remember there being a forum or blog for owners.

Why does that make me think of an 1887 shotgun. Maybe it's the profile of the action?

Very cool rifle you have there.

I've seen a few for sale for about $1,000 for a plain model. Yours looks like it has upgraded wood. They were also offered with color case hardened and/or engraved receivers.

                  I agree with TRAP............"WICKY".

Lack of markings IMO, is due to it being a kit or home build.

The Wicky was a very popular DIY for home builders long before the influx of 80% type weapon systems. And blueprints/drawing/specs were at one time readily available online. And mail order.

Might check with the guys on

The Plum colored finish. With WHITE interior appears to be a "COLD BLUE" application. Again supporting the DIY probability.
