      I love my 6.5.
If I was limited to short range like that,I’d be looking at 223 and some heavier pills. If you don’t reload. Than the 6.5
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

I think a lot of people say they don't mind the recoil, but end up doing shorter shooting days. 308 really isnt bad, but after 200 rounds of it I certainly feel it enough to not necessarily find it pleasant anymore.

I think CM pushes the round count higher before its not pleasant. But if you truly dont care about recoil, having that nice heavy 308 pill flying out is satisfying. Especially shooting steel.

The MPA weighs 10-11 pounds bare. Add a scope and bipod and the recoil should be tolerable, especially if he leaves the muzzle brake on.

Dang. My MDT ACC with the weight kit tips the scale at around 23 lbs, shooting a 6GT. I was watching my impacts through the scope while doing modified free-recoil yesterday at the Avenal PRS regional match. It was epic and satisfying.

That's about all I like to shoot of any major caliber* in one session. Any more and I'm wasting ammo.

*For this piker, that's .45 Auto and .308 Winchester... not 416 Rigby or 500 S&W...

I agree on the 223 part, but for 200 yards don't really need the heavier pills

                    Nice work Todd.

BTW meet with Dave C today we are going to name a stage after him for the UKD match.. I was struggling with a concept that he brilliantly brought to life!

I think you misspelled .45-70 but whateva

Look, if you honestly only want to shoot 200 yards at paper, just get a .223 or a Grendel - or if you want something bigger (and I hate to say it) why not make the drive to somewhere you can shoot whatever the hell you want? Oroville is one long dirt berm and it’s like, 800m at the middle? Just make a day and explore a bit!

200 rounds a day and a 2000 round barrel life = 10 days at the range? If you go to the range one day a week and miss half the weeks a year isn't that 2-3 barrels?
