TRAP55 is an aficionado, nay! a cognoscenti! of these Winchesters, so you may rest assured his reply is sound advice.
You may also compare advertised pressures against these handloads for further personal edification...
Using Hodgdon LeverEvolution powder, here are seven loads to boosts .30-30 lever-gun performance for handloaders.
Gentlemen, I have 2 Winchester 94's in .44 mag. One is a 94 Wrangler (16" barrel, large loop lever) and the other is a Trails End (20" barrel and longer forend). Both have the 1 turn in 38" rifling twist rate. My 2 best loads in the Wrangler (16" barrel) look like this: Case: Starline .44...

ALL factory produced 30-30 ammo should be loaded to the industry standards for pressure.
Changes in powder are what are giving more velocity from the same pressure.
So just because the velocities are higher, do not assume the pressures are higher.
The pressure levels for 30-30 were determined from OLD guns.Randall Rausch

I have a Marlin 1893 in .30-30 made around 1910-1915 that I shoot with no problems. If it is in good shape enjoy it."Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

I have a 1940 Winchester Model 94 .30-30 that handles 150gr and 170gr factory ammo with zero problems.

Same for 45-70; the pressures are kept to original spec. Otherwise it would blow up the old guns. 45-70 has a lot of potential to reload much heavier loads in modern guns. You'll find that in reloading manuals - a section for old trap-doors, and a section for modern rifles.
