I got my Savage Hog Hunter in 338Fed and have the Leupold 3.5X10X40 duplex reticle scope mounted in weaver rings all ready. Now I need some good weather so I can zero it in and check loads over my chrono and for accuracy. I have 165 and 185gr Barnes TTSX loaded to try. Plan to use 165gr TTSX for hogs/deer/bear in Calif. More frontal area and more damage done.

338Fed ready
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

A 160 gr Barns TTSX on a mule deer buck, looks like a 2 inch drill bit goes through them.I got my Savage Hog Hunter in 338Fed and have the Leupold 3.5X10X40 duplex reticle scope mounted in weaver rings all ready. Now I need some good weather so I can zero it in and check loads over my chrono and for accuracy. I have 165 and 185gr Barnes TTSX loaded to try. Plan to use 165gr TTSX for hogs/deer/bear in Calif. I suspect it will work well. I wanted a handy rifle but not another 338win mag.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
