Bore Guide for Savage Model 10

    Hi Guys,

I have a Savage Model 10 in .223 Rem. I am looking for a bore guide to use for cleaning.

I found this bore guide at Bud's and wonder if it will work.

If you have a recommendation for something better, please holler.

    Thanks,

That looks like the universal guide I have. It replaces the bolt and tightens in place. That should work fine in a variety of rifles.

OP--I have one much like the one you are looking at. It works just fine and I clean many different rifles.
Do use a one piece cleaning rod and NOT the 3 piece alum ones in the kits. Dewey is good as is Pro Shooter for example.
Use something better than #9. I like Wipe-Out(foaming cleaner) followed by Sweets 7.62 or Barnes CR-10 and or Butches Bore Shine or Tetra Gun or one of the Montana products or Shooter Choice and Kroil oil.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I concur with the above. Birchwood Casey and Hoppe's both have good foaming bore cleaner. I use a similar bore guide for my Savage Ashbury.

One of the best. Get the solvent port to make it cleaner and easier. Also a chance it may cross reference to another firearm you have.

                  Made by Possum Hollow.

The main advantage to the Sinclair or possum hollow is the o-ring that holds the rod in the chamber and the solvent port.
You slide the guide into the chamber and when the O-ring contacts the neck you push it forward to seal it.
The solvent port helps careful people from spilling cleaning fluid on there stock.
I am a messy cleaner so I put a cleaning sock over the stock.
                    They all work.
