Well,
I got the CZ home, and I am very impressed with the quality of the firearm. Bluing is top notch, action smooth as silk, the wood is beautiful. This is the varmint model, 26 inch heavy barrel, 1:8 twist hammer forged barrel. 5 round detachable magazine.
It’s topped with a 3x9x40 Leupold Freedom scope with CDS dials. It is mounted on a DIP rail, and 1 inch Vortex scope rings. This rifle will be dual purpose for me, a long range target steel pounder, and a hunting rifle.
Since I drew first blood on my first game animal in Wyoming in October, my resolve to increase my hunting activity has stiffened. This rifle will be used as a utility rifle. For deer, pronghorn, coyotes. The Grendel proved itself in Wyoming on the doe Pronghorn, 123gr SST, just behind the left shoulder, vaporizing the lungs. And 1 probable coyote. With my 18 inch stainless barreled Upper AR15.
The CZ is light, and I can use it states that don’t allow the use of semi-autos for hunting game animals. For regular target practice I will be using the 123gr Hornady 6.5mm BTHP, for hunting outside California 123gr SST, in state 110gr Lehigh Defense Controlled Chaos. Although other projectiles might be used.
As I have an increasing number of preference points for pronghorn, deer, and elk in Wyoming, I am also looking at other areas. Texas, fall of 2020 for deer or hog, Nevada or Arizona for predators in that timeframe. Anyway, pics below A2
