Marlin 1895 in a big bore is all I can say. It's a Pre-Remington make because the stock fits the receiver.

Depending on the cartridge (chambering), that rifle is either a Model 336 or a Model 1895. The bullets in the cartridges in the butt cuff are too pointy to be the typical 405-grain slug common to the .45-70 cartridge...

A 336 is chambered in some more-or-less common rifle cartridges, such as .30-30, or .35 Remington, etc... whereas a Model 1895 (of which there are at least 7 variations on the theme) is chambered in the .45-70 Gov't cartridge.

It also has the cross bolt safety, if that matters.
