Looks like a 45 Colt might be in my future. The Redhawk needs a companion.

Just an update, I picked up the rifle a few days ago and haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet. Very clean, no tool marks or scratches, wood looks basic but decent. I’m happy with it thus far. Have a couple boxes of lead ammo (200 grain at 900 FPS, 240’s @ 1275) and a box of Barnes copper solid 225’s to try out this weekend.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Good news I'm looking forward to reading your range report.

In jail...Rossi 92 .357/.38. Looked clean and felt smooth out of the box. Fit and finish were excellent for the price point. Due out on Sunday, 12-ish.

$468.95, shipped; no transfer fee; buried the DROS with a couple of pistols.

Pretending waiting is no big deal.

                Oooops....Blued.

It joins the Henry Golden Boy and Big Boy (.357/.38) in the lever section of toyland.

Oh, you're going to like that rifle. I've got a Rossi 92, stainless, in .38/357, 16" bbl, bone-stock, and it's a treat to shoot.

Do you reload your own ammo? If so, then this rifle--with a nice, light .38 Special load (say, a 105gr cast bullet on top of 4.0 grains of Bullseye)--makes a terrific substitute for .22LR marksmanship practice. Shooting such a load in a Rossi 92 feels just ever so slightly more than a .22LR. Remember when we had .22 ammo shortages after the Sandy Hook massacre? This is what I used at the range instead, during that period.

Anyone else have issues with Rossi 92 running 38 Special? 357 runs fine but I've had cycling issues with 38. I dropped rifle last time at range, butt stock cracked, so fricken' bummed

454 Casull in lever gun sounds interesting

I have a Rossi 92 in .357 that has fed every type of factory .38spl I've ever given it. It's a great shooter. Sorry yours has trouble with .38.

Mine also had a small crack where the butt stock meets the receiver. The crack was only internal and I used some epoxy to strengthen it up since you can't see it when assembled. I shot about 500 rounds after noticing the crack but before repair, and around 1k rounds since repair with no issues.

Only trouble I had was the mag tube started to slip out from .357 recoil. A added a set screw to prevent that. Google the fix if you encounter the problem.

My first Rossi 38/357 had trouble feeding 357, 38sp worked just fine.

Same with mine. I've run not just various types of factory ammo through mine, but also various cast bullet styles including full wadcutters. No feeding problems whatsoever, be it .38 Spl or .357M. If there is a feeding problem, then something needs to be adjusted.
