Haha, me neither. I was expecting to see an older wood stocked rifle or a lever action to kick this post off.

I can't post a current picture because there's some vulgarity on the stock, but I have a Defiance Deviant Hunter (long action) with Proof CF barrel cut to 26.5 inches in a McMillan carbon fiber Game Warden stock with adjustable cheek riser, Leupold Mark 5 5-25, and carried with various slings depending on the hunt. It's chambered in 7mm magnum, and I'm currently shooting 140 gr TSX bullets.

I am deeply in love with the Ruger No. 1 though, but prefer more than one round when hunting. Still, I wish I could find one in 7 mag for S&G.

                  South Texas Hunting Rig

Here's one of our South Texas (Cotulla, TX) Hunting Rigs - right after a slight mishap at the river crossing.

After we got it out I crawled underneath popped the drain plug and let the water drain until oil came out. Pulled a couple of spark plugs, cranked the engine, put the plugs back in, started it and drove it to camp. Then did a complete oil and filter change that night and on hunting the next day.

I spent several weekends after that replacing PS pump, alternator and accessories that didn't like the water.

Truck was still running 20 years later.

Oh sorry you meant rifles. Don't have pictures of those but varies between Savage 99 in 308, Remington 7MM or a Model 70 in 30-06.

I'm partial to what Fjold posted.....

My latest project is a CZ550, .375H&H, 22" barrel, band stud, patridge front sight, QR Leupold 1-4X Fire dot duplex reticle. At 100, it stacks the bullets nearly in the same hole. Retirement Safari down the road...

My normal go-to hunting rifle is an X-Bolt in 300 WinMag with a Leupold LR on it.

I use my homemade AK with rattle can clearcoat over rust for heavy brush hunting of deer and pigs, and some old Marlin lever guns once in a while. Or a 1911. Or Hoyt Double XL.

Used my Model 70 243 Westerner in Hawaii this spring, and have hunted with my Steyr Model S in 458 Winmag several times. Or Mossberg MVP in 308, or Model 70 HV in 223, on of several ARs, or an M1 Carbine on occasion, or...or...or... Guess it depends on too many variables and the mood of the day.

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

A simple 20 year old .30-06 Remington 700 adl topped with a leupold vx2 3-9. It was stock until last year, when I replaced the recalled trigger with a trigertech. Not much to look at, but it works for me.
