Quite simply, I'm looking for an expert here in the central valley who can help remedy a severe cycling issue on my new to me 1957 .22 lever action Marlin 39A. I'm also open to sending it out for the repair so please also make a recommendation on that.
To call it "gritty" would be a vast understatement. Cycling the lever is a real chore but the bolt does cock the hammer and the trigger function is normal.
I haven't been able to open it up yet as it's currently sitting in jail.
I'm sure it's fixable, the price was more than adjusted down due to this issue and to look at it at sixty-two years old, one might think it was just manufactured yesterday.
Also, does anyone here have a link to an owner's manual for a 39A or Golden Mountie (pretty much identical to each other) or can email it to me in document form? Being a takedown rifle, I need to know how to go about that as in cocked or uncocked, lever open or closed during that procedure?
Thanks in advance.
