    Link?

I've only shot 405's, and a few Hornady 325gr Leverevolutions, in Marlin 1895CB.

      No...

      Winchester 88 is side eject.

I agree with all this except the Henry part. I have two Henry's, a .357 brass with 20" octagon barrel. Yes, a bit heavy, but, it stays on target. The other is a .45 Colt with 20" round barrel. They both seem to shoulder fine for me. Same as the Marlin's and Winchester's do. Probably a preference thing. But, thats probably why I have all three makes! I like 'em.

For pistol caliubers, I have two Rossi 92s and I like them but they are difficult to scope. I don't. The Henry or Marlin are much easier to mount a scope.

For rifle calibers (.30-30, etc) the Win 94, Henry or Marlin 336 are good. I would go with the side gate if a Henry, IMHO. The Henry does offer the side gate with the loading tube as well which makes for easier unloading. An "old model" Win 94 will be more difficult to scope while the newer angle eject models scope easily.

For other options, there are the Browning Lever rifle in more potent rifle cartridges, as well as a used Savage 99 or Win 88.

As you mentioned self defense, I assume a pistol caliber is what you are looking for...

I'm a sucker for that case hardening. That's a nice one.

                      bsumoba, that's a sweet rifle.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

It is model # H012MCC. I think this is a relatively new thing they are doing. https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/big-...case-hardened/

I got it to use alongside my Colt King Cobra

Henry has a side gate lever, which looks like a first for them, but they do not offer this any any caliber I would like.

I've got the 45C in my cart but I'm stalling. I'm think on getting a couple SKS type in 56. I don't have anything in that caliber. My dumb*** didn't buy one or 10 when they were 70 bucks..
