    Laser Cut Checkering

I see that many new rifles have "laser cut checkering" on them and they really look spectacular.

I have a few rifles with no checkering and our local hand checkering expert (actually quite good) charges a fortune and can take awhile. It can be worth it if the rifle deserves it but the rifles I have now only need functional checkering, nothing fancy.

Is this capability an aftermarket service or is this found on new rifles only?

I bought a fairly ratty pair of OM Trooper grips off eBay and sent them to this person for work:

Work took about two weeks, cost was reasonable and the job came out absolutely perfect. You probably have to be a member to see the photos, but here's the link with before and after:

Around post #25 is the final after. Some of the grip area was worn smooth and the edges gone when I bought them, she managed to cut perfectly and reconstruct the edging too. Of course, now I have to buy a gun to put them on …..
