I don't know what a photo will show you but this is 6.5x284 built on a left handed Montana Rifle Company short action. It's a modified M70 style action that is a 1/4" longer than the standard short action. It works well with the intermediate length 284 case.

The top rifle in the photo:

I never had any issues with feeding. I shoot it in F class matches at 1,000 yards, where it's done a 10 shot 5.2" group. It's taken deer, antelope, a ton of coyotes, prairie dogs and squirrels.

Thanks. Being an intermediate cartridge I wanted to use a long action. Likely to feed it from an AICS style magazine.

I've been wanting a 6.5-284 for a long time now and also the 260 Rem. I was looking up loads for the 17 Rem fireball in the Hornady book and seen the 6.5-284 and decided to compare it to the 260 and found out the 260 matches or beats the 6.5-284 in velocity with less powder and the same bullets.
Do not fear the enemy, for your enemy can only take your life. It is far better that you fear the media, for they will steal your Honour

I have guns in both cartridges.

With the 120 grain and lighter bullets, the 260 will get within about 50 fps of the the 6.5x284 but as you shoot heavier bullets the 6.5x284 pulls away by 150 - 200 fps.

The 260 Rem case has a capacity of 53.5 grains of water while the 6.5x284 has a case capacity of about 68.3 grains of water.

Loaded to equal pressures, the 260 Rem will never compete.
